In the final days of our London exhibition “Monument to the Unimportant,” explore Erwin Wurm’s “Toilet” (2014), which plays with volume to comment on our relationship to domestic space.

This sculpture is characteristic of Wurm’s practice, which often draws on the everyday—such as cars, houses, clothing, luxury bags, and food products—to explore consumerism and identity. By bloating or shrinking familiar forms as a primary sculptural technique, he emphasises distortions in how meaning is assigned to objects.

“Monument to the Unimportant” is on view at our 5 Hanover Square gallery in London until Saturday, February 14.
