‘Control X,’ an exhibition of new paintings and video animations by Tala Madani (@talamadani), opens on September 18. 2026

The works in ‘Control X’ address mythologies of creation, tracing the fine lines between making and destroying across art, language, history, and human relationships. Reflecting the flexible meaning of the ‘X’ in its title, the exhibition brings together moments where openness and variation are juxtaposed with erasure. The mythologies presented in these works are neither grand nor cosmological, but point to places where social codes are being rewritten—and unwritten—in visceral ways.
