Léa appears repeatedly in Delhomme’s paintings, each time captured in a different pose, gesture, or moment of repose. Rather than narrating her story, the artist observes the subtle variations that emerge from one painting to another.
Alongside these portraits, open-book still lifes introduce another form of repetition, bringing familiar images and art-historical references into new compositions and placing the intimacy of the studio in dialogue with the history of painting.
Together, the works draw attention to subtle shifts in pose, composition, and attention.
