Katharina Grosse’s *Black Bed* opens at MUNCH in Oslo and is on view through January 3, 2027.
For Grosse, paint extends beyond traditional formats, flowing across walls, objects and architecture to transform entire environments into fields of painting.
At the centre of the exhibition is *Black Bed*, a new installation that reimagines Grosse’s seminal work *Das Bett* (2004), in which she covered her Düsseldorf bedroom, including its furniture, clothes and belongings, in paint, transforming and ultimately destroying the space and its contents.
For *Black Bed*, Grosse uses black paint for the first time, connecting the exhibition to the emotional and psychological themes of life and death in Edvard Munch’s art.
The exhibition is on view on the 3rd floor at MUNCH.
