Kay-Leigh Fisher has long been suspicious of images, particularly their ability to depict “truth”.

While her work rests within portraiture, it acknowledges the impossibility of fully conveying the complex lives of those who populate her paintings. Yet she continues to search, grounding this pursuit in an acute awareness of the power of images.

In her debut solo exhibition at BKhZ, “In Our Glory”, Fisher makes visible an ongoing and open-ended unsettling of archives that are at once both personal and public.
